On 12th August 1964 the privately owned 10-lane Brunswick equipped bowl opened in Vernon Street, Preston. Research shows that the centre was referred to both, Windsor Lanes and Castle Vernon Bowl, although it is not known what the official title was. Little is known about the centre, but it was sadly, destroyed by fire in late 1965 or early 1966.
