Fairlanes Finsley Gate Road Burnley

The Fairlanes bowling centre in Burnley, built into what is believed to have been, a purpose-built building opened in November October 26th 1963. The centre was equipped with 24 Brunswick lanes and machines and opened by Douglas Fairbank Junior together with the Mayor of Burnley Mr Alderman James Lord. Very little more is known about the centre other than that ownership changed to Granada Bowling at some point, possibly in 1965. The centre was closed, abruptly, one Monday morning in February 1967. Following closure, the building was converted to an MFI store.
