Alan Keddie and Keira Reay are to be inducted into the UK Tenpin Hall of Fame in 2026. The Men’s and Women’s awards are kindly sponsored by Bowling Vision.
Dave Steiner will be inducted in the Distinguished Service division. Sponsored by the UK Tenpin Bowling Operators.
Nominations were made by each of the ten members of the UK Tenpin Hall of Fame committee and a list was drawn up. The Committee then had access to the UK Tenpin Hall of Fame Database to research details on each player and a ballot was held to find the final Male, Female and distinguished name to be inducted in 2026.
The inductees selected were chosen for their achievements in World, European and Domestic tournaments since the start of UK bowling in 1961 and for additional honours like Bowler of the Year awards and induction into the World Bowling Writers Hall of Fame. As well as the players being celebrated and honoured, a distinguished service award was again selected.
Since the sport arrived on our shores special individuals all over the United Kingdom have dedicated their time to improving the game and working tirelessly to make the sport better for everyone. From Proprietors, National Associations, YBC officials to tournament organizers and media, these people are the backbone of our sport and make it possible for bowlers to reach for the stars.
So here is a brief rundown of the 2026 inductees.

Onto Doubles Bronze in the 2016 World Championships in the USA and another Silver at EYC in Belgium and winning the Irish Open in 2017.

Dave Steiner
Mr Steiner is often referred to Grumpy Major – this is from his rank serving the British Army. And it’s where his bowling journey begun where in 1978 as then a staff sergeant in Canada he set up a three lane manual centre for a UK/Canadian league. Then throughout the 80s as a Warrant Officer, he managed Army bowling and most tournaments in Europe. During that time he was the Army champion 8yrs times in a row. This was probably one of the reasons why he was promoted to an Officer. Whilst overseeing Army bowling, he was also involving himself in International bowling. Getting involved in local groups in Germany. He negotiated with local bowls to become more sport focus, showing them about lane conditioning, and how setting up local German leagues alongside military ones would improve their business model. When he left the Army in the mid 90s he consulted with the local council and had a 10 lane bowling alley set up in Farnborough leisure centre, setting up leagues including a YBC, that ran until Covid. During this time he was on the Hampshire committee, being Chairman for a time. Dave has been a coach to several team England players, and many players have benefited from his vast knowledge none more so then his beloved wife Jan. Mr Steiner also has acted as a Team England Manager. Then there is the work Dave has done for the BTBA – serving on the executive council for many years in the role of head of legal and vice chairman. He was a major part of setting up and managing the very successful Tenpin Tour. The National, and Local level contribution Dave Steiner has made is immeasurable, none more so than shaping the governance of the sport in this country.
