2025 was a big year for our Senior Bowlers with the European Championships in Leipzig and the World Championships in Reno. Our Youth Bowlers also had the European Championships in Samsun, Turkey.
Team Bronze for England’s Paul Loberman, Steve Thornton, Alan Meades and Matt Trotter in the Senior European Championships got the year off to a good start..
Dom Barrett continued to have some good results on the PBA Tour with a runner-up spot in the Pete Weber Classic and making the step ladder finals in USBC Masters finishing 5th. Meanwhile Verity Crawley finished 4th at Topeka,3rd in Green Bay and runner-up at Rochester on the PWBA. Stu Williams and Izzie Allen both had a win in a regional PBA event.
In the European Youth Championships our bowlers picked up some great medals. Charlie Upton winning Bronze in the Masters, Avan Rhodes, Silver in the masters, Doubles Bronze for Avan and Chloe Birch and Frank Stephenson with a terrific Gold in the Singles.
Onto the Youth Triple Crown in Altrincham where Ben Wallace of Scotland had a great event winning the Masters and All Events in the U16 group. Ava Andrade won U19 All Events Gold, Chloe Birch U16 Masters and All Events Gold.
The Adult Triple Crown was held in Ayr and Jamie Bottemley coming out on top in both the All Events and Masters.
Hayley Russell won Silver in the European Champions Cup in Vienna.
Finishing Top in the English Sport Bowling Tour for 2025 were Brandon Roberts and Hayley Russell.
Tom Langley won the first three events on the BTBA tour and finished top of the tour rankings. Louise Gray finishing top for the ladies.
In Scotland Alan Keddie and Alison Williamson finished top Scottish bowlers in our rankings. Whilst in Wales it was Mel Oates and Louise Roberts tied and Robert Bruce for the men.
The big event of the Year was the Senior World Championships in Reno. Our Grand Senior team did exceptionally well. Angie Brown winning Masters Gold, Kim Johnson Masters Silver, Gary Baker All Events Bronze, Angie Brown All Events Silver, Gary and Kim Doubles Gold, Angie and Diane Johnson Doubles Gold, Sandra Simmonds and Lynn Squibb Doubles Bronze.
It is not surprising then that top off our rankings for 2025 are Angie Brown for the Ladies and Kim Johnson for the men, well done to both and all bowlers who competed in 2025.
