2015 UK Tenpin Hall of Fame Inductees announced
Brian Michael, Paul Moor, Gina Wardle and Lisa John are to be inducted into the UK Tenpin Hall of Fame, which is kindly sponsored by Storm Products, Inc., through their UK distributors, Bowltech UK.
Northern and National Scratch Tour and proprietor of Shipley Bowl David Grainger, will be inducted in the Distinguished Services division, sponsored by the TBPA.
After the ballot, the final four and service awardees were selected. The players selected were chosen for their achievements in World, European and Domestic tournaments and for additional honours like World Bowler of the Year and induction into the World Bowling Writers Hall of Fame.
As well as the players being celebrated and honoured an industry award for distinguished service was again selected. Since the sport arrived on our shores special individuals all over the United Kingdom have dedicated their time to improving the game and working tirelessly to make the sport better for everyone. From BTBA, TBPA and YBC officials to tournament organizers these people are the backbone of our sport and make it possible for bowlers to reach for the stars.
So here is a brief run down of the 2015 inductees
Brian Michael together with 2013 inductee Bernie Caterer won doubles Gold in the 1975 World Championships and later became a successful Great Britain Youth coach after being a talent youth player himself.
Gina Wardle was the first British lady to roll a perfect game in 1985, also winning the British Open Championships and medals in Europe for Great Britain.
Paul Moor is a four time European rankings champion and winner of the most EBT titles ever. A World bowler of the year in 2005 and owner of a PBA title among a record haul of trophies. Also rolled the first live TV 300 in the Weber Cup.
Lisa John has won over 30 UK Domestic titles Including Grand Slam of Home nation opens and over twenty championship medals including multiple Golds.
David Grainger, the current proprietor of Go Bowling in Shipley, West Yorkshire will be inducted into the Distinguished Service division. His long career in tenpin bowling included forming the Northern Scratch Tour in the 1980’s and running numerous tournaments and tours. He has been the owner of Go Bowling for over 20 years and is respected for his dedication to the sport.
The Distinguished Service division is sponsored by the Tenpin Bowling Proprietors Association.
Presentations are will take place in the Autumn and details will be released in the coming months.
