History of Tenpin Bowling in the UK Part 27 – Ambassador Bowl Westgate The High Harlow Essex

Ambassador Bowl Westgate The High Harlow Essex

The 24 lane AMF equipped purpose-built bowling centre opened on 13th November 1962. It is believed that it was originally to be opened by Trans-World Bowling but the site was taken over by Ambassador Bowling when Trans-World pulled out of bowling in the UK. By the mid sixties a young David Pond had become the star bowler in Harlow but sadly, very little more is know about the centre which closed on 31st August 1972.
